The biggest myth in the fitness world
is that having a lean muscular body takes more time to keep up with
than the average person has. People also think that the more time you
spend in the gym lifting weights, the better your results will be. Well
guess what? These are common misconceptions and the truth is only a
fraction of the results come from actually lifting weights which also
means only a fraction of the time has to be spent in the gym.
Most of the gym time
is wasted talking, psyching your self out, preparing to get
going, taking breaks between sets, thinking about tomorrow’s
schedule, and checking out bodies of folks that are actually
working. Actual, real work is only being done for about fifteen minutes
total during a workout. Think about it,
3 sets of 10 reps can be performed in about 30 seconds and if you are
performing 3 different exercises for each muscle group you can be in
and out of the gym in no time. Take a stop watch and record the time
that is actually spent doing work and the results will be astonishing.
Remember also only a fraction of the results come from lifting weights.
Weight lifting will stimulate your muscles which will cause muscle
growth, it will not burn fat. What’s the use of having
ridiculous muscles and keeping them hidden under a layer of fat? You
can be able to throw 400lbs. over your head and still look like a fat
slob. An important and commonly overlooked part of muscle definition is
fat loss. These two components along with proper rest, nutrition, and
cardio exercise will lead to the body that you have been dreaming
about. They are all equally important and the results will be
compromised if any of the components are neglected. Your muscles must
recover from work, your body must be replenished with nutrients, you
heart should be in a healthy state, and your mind should be rested in
addition to burning fat and weight training.
There are no
scientific facts that say the more time spent in the gym the
better the results. It is quite the contrary especially if you are not
doing anything while you are there. Science will tell you not
to over work your body and to rest properly. Time
your next workout and you will discover that a lot less time
is spent working out than people are used to believing. The timing will
blow you away and absolutely nobody will be able to say that they do
not have the time to work out.
So don’t make excuses as to why you don’t have time
to go to the gym, and don’t lollygag while you are there and
your will experience substantial results in no time.
